"There is no deeper truth in the mystery of God than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You are going to understand every verse in the book of Revelation on the day that Jesus Christ comes back, but you will spend a thousand eternities in heaven and you will not even begin to comprehend the greatness of the Gospel."

profound words from a profound song

One reason I’m beginning to love David so much is that so many of his thoughts and emotions are poured out in the Psalms. His Psalms are so packed with raw emotion, and really lets you into the mind of a man after God’s own heart.

Guard my soul and deliver me; Do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for You.
-Psalm 25:20-21

How I long to be like him! So many times, David is clearly distressed and cries out for God’s help. Can you hear the tone of his voice! He knows that he is helpless and can only find refuge in God! Though Saul has a vendetta against him, and he was exiled from Israel, David’s trust remains in God.
So what is keeping us from being like David? God is still the same! He is still just and good! We are loved by Him just as much as David! In fact, we are even more blessed because Christ has come and died for us! All the ingredients for us to be like David are there! I pray that my trust may be completely in God. I pray that I would be upright and that my eyes would be fixed on Him. I pray that I will wait for Him like a bride her groom.

"Waiting is one of God’s most powerful tools of grace. It’s important to realize in your ministry that God doesn’t just give us grace for the wait. The wait itself is a gift of grace. You see, waiting is not only about what you will receive at the end of the wait. Waiting is about what you will become as you wait."
